ISKO™ Launches COTTONIZED Collection with TENCEL®
ISKO™, a worldwide denim manufacturer, constantly tries to break denim barriers. The brand teamed up with Lenzing for their latest innovation presentation in New York City which included COTTONIZED collection with TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal®.
The collection appeared at ISKO™’s annual innovation seminar and gallery show in New York City, of which Lenzing was a sponsor. David Brandon Geeting, a photographer living and working in Brooklyn, NY was commissioned by Isko to create a body of work in his signature style inspired by the brand’s core performance attributes of stretch, green, soft and soft. The event featured a panel discussion with denim leaders from ISKO™, Lenzing and Creative Room, which discussed the COTTONIZED collection, as well as sustainability efforts within the denim industry.
Kutay Saritosun, Senior Marketing and CSR Executive and of ISKO™, urged people to “look at [sustainability] from a holistic perspective.”
Despite the collection’s name, the fabric consists of TENCEL®and Lenzing Modal,® creating a cotton-less denim with the appearance, drape, and wash-down unlike any other fabrication. Continuing sustainability efforts, the fabrics are made from wood based cellulose and therefore have a lower environmental impact compared to other more traditional fabrics.
“Denim is in a new era with innovations and influences converging for products the consumer is demanding,” ,” said Tricia Carey, Lenzing director of global business development-denim. “ISKO™ is an innovation trailblazer and utilizes TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal® for a modern definition of denim.”
The collection features vintage-looking denim, and incorporates both Lenzing’s sustainable fibers, as well as ISKO™’s own patented Supercharged power stretch. The combination allows for a second-skin movement ability and superior fit.
While the collection’s look focuses on a vintage theme, the technology behind the garments takes ISKO™ into the next century.
