5 Minutes With Arizona Muse

When it comes to passions, sustainability is one that’s front and center for Arizona Muse.

The fashion model and lifestyle blogger at Bmusing.com, joined Lenzing and the Sustainable Angle last month, as part of the 7th Future Fabrics Expo, which highlighted the future of fashion textiles.

Focusing on a new landscape of sustainable materials, bio-innovations created from oranges, apples or pineapple leaves, luxury silks, regenerated materials and sustainable denims with TENCEL® and Refibra™ branded lyocell fibers, the event took to highlighting the way forward for fabrics.

As an advisory board member of The Sustainable Angle, a not for profit organization that initiates and supports projects that contribute to minimizing the apparel industry’s environmental impact, Arizona Muse helped host the event.

“I find that sustainability in fashion in particular is on its way forward at a rapid pace,” Arizona Muse told Carved in Blue. “I’m excited as I see more and more brands searching for fabrics that don’t have a negative impact on our planet or on our fellow humans. It’s common sense really.”

Though common sense for some, Arizona Muse said it’s going to take getting the general public to make comments and ask questions to get consumers more on board with sustainability.

“Brands really do listen to their consumers and often wait to hear it from the consumer’s demands before making a change toward sustainability,” she said.

The mother and new wife said she takes time to teach her son about recycling materials, how to reuse and mend things, and she avoids buying things with plastic as much as possible. But taking her impact on sustainability a step further, Arizona Muse said she’s developing a brand she hopes to see take off this year.

“Wait and it’s soon to arrive!” she said.

When asked what Carved in Blue means to her, Arizona Muse said, “Carved in Blue is a modern solution to jeans. I don’t know a single person who’s never owned a pair.”
