Lenzing Gives Partners In-Person Look During HQ Tour
A couple weeks ago, the Lenzing denim team and our industry friends were in Munich for Bluezone, the denim and sportswear trade show. And while in Germany, we took advantage of the close proximity to our Austrian headquarters to create an educational experience.
After Bluezone wrapped on Sept. 1, a small group of customers—including mills, brands and influencers—was invited to come with us to our home base and production plant in-person. Aligning this trip with Bluezone allowed us to more easily engage a global group. Visitors joined us from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Turkey, the United States and Vietnam.
Tricia Carey, director global business development at Lenzing, kicked off the tour with an introduction. Then, the Lenzing commercial and sustainability teams gave overview and answered questions. The tour group went to our production facilities to see how TENCEL™ lyocell fibers are made, and they also got to see a bird’s eye view of the entire campus from the roof, as well as a walk through the wood yard.
Customer connection is key to our ethos and visits like this help us to forge those closer relationships. “Providing an experience while visit Lenzing AG builds a longstanding customer connection and next-level storytelling. Originally, we planned this open house from Bluezone Munich in February 2020, but had to cancel due to the pandemic and instead made a virtual tour,” said Tricia. “With today’s business climate, it is even more relevant that our customers get to see how we work and where their fibers are produced for a high level of transparency. Each time I bring customers to Lenzing, I learn through their eyes what is important and I connect that to future conversations. With the success of this event, we will plan future open houses within this small group format.”
Here’s what some of the attendees had to say:
“Our beloved key fiber TENCEL™ is in so good hands. I am really amazed by your Lenzing HQ and today’s production side visit. An outstanding setup in the middle of Europe. We will even create more TENCEL™-based fabrics after today! Brain is working already.”
— Tim Huesemann, Tat Fung Textile Company
“I appreciated the fact that you gave the hot water from the water treatment system to the river after cooling it, protecting the fish and nature. I think you stand out from all manmade fiber manufacturers by recovering 99 percent of the solvent used in the production of lyocell. I am very pleased that you showed the TENCEL(TM) lyocell process in all its details.”
— Aykut Çam, Tüsa Tekstil Pazarlama San. ve Tic. A.S.
“Thank you for your invitation to the Lenzing factory tour. This was an amazing experience to see such a clean and controlled production floor operated by robots 24/7. When it comes to sustainability and transparency, everything we have read on the website was put into work at the factory. I enjoyed the presentation and Q&A section as it was very informative. After the Lenzing visit, I have a sense of appreciation for the hard work that goes into TENCEL™ lyocell products—I’m a brand loyal!”
— Rashid Iqbal, Naveena Denim Ltd.
“It was a life experience for me; I felt at least rejuvenated. Wish you to keep up the green flag standing at the highest point!”
— Panos Sofianos, Bluezone
“It was great to visit Lenzing last week. I’ve been thinking the last few days; apart from the transparency you all offer, it was so nice to see that all of you are so passionate about Lenzing and what you are doing. That is really refreshing and something I haven’t seen amongst a group of employees for a while. And of course the beautiful location and fresh air!”
— Laura Dixon, Three By One Europe
