24/7 Collection Brings Chambray from Day into Night
Light, fluid and creative, Lenzing’s womenswear collection, TENCEL® 24: Day into Night, shows the many fashionable ways to wear chambray.
The collection uses complementary fiber blends with five TENCEL® fabric bases provided by mills from Pakistan and Turkey. Jeanologia, an industry head in sustainable garment finishing technology, played a role in the product by partnering with TENCEL® throughout the creation process.
“Introducing sustainable new ideas for the denim market requires collaboration across the entire supply chain including garment processing,” said Michael Kininmonth, Lenzing project manager for denim. “The TENCEL® 24: Day into Night collection was a conscious effort to show that adopting the new environmentally responsible laundry techniques does not mean sacrificing aesthetic excellence…we hope that everyone will see that it has taken TENCEL® chambray to another level.”
The capsule collection displays sketch and laser-designed garments from pants and a maxi dress to a kimono, while using the most cutting-edge technology from production to sustainability. The capsule is also in line within Lenzing’s commitment to fiber innovation and environmental responsibility.
“The true beauty of these special chambray fabrics goes well beyond the surface,” said Enrique Silla, Jeanologia co-founder. “Years of innovation have gone into producing both the fiber and the finishing technologies. It is 20 years since we first worked with TENCEL® fabrics and this collection has surpassed anything we have previous produced which is proof that we do not have to sacrifice the product to be green.”
