ISKO™ is the First and the Only Denim Mill in the World to Receive the Prestigious Certification EU Ecolabel

Another illustrious achievement for ISKO™ and for its platform dedicated to sustainability, ISKO EARTH FIT™, that has received the prestigious certification EU Ecolabel. This is yet another confirmation of ISKO™’s deep commitment to responsibility that earned it the 2016 Nordic Swan Ecolabel for several products of the ISKO EARTH FIT™ line.

The ISKO™ EU Ecolabel products will be launched in May 2017 as part of the new collection.

ISKO™ is now the first and the only denim mill in the world to have received these distinguished recognitions.

“Being conscientious comes from research, attention, deep commitment and pointed awareness about what is happening to our planet” explains Fatih Konukoglu, CEO of ISKO™ Division and board member of SANKO Group. “Here in ISKO™, to produce means to care: care about people, environment, products. This firm belief is the heart of our nurturing approach. We believe in the future: that’s why we continue to invest in protecting our planet”, he concludes, echoed by Anita Winsnes, managing director of Ecolabelling Norway: “It’s great that the world’s biggest denim manufacturer shows such a commitment to sustainability. If we are going to succeed with the necessary green shift in our global economy, it’s important that companies like ISKO™ clear the way. When giants take steps towards more sustainability, the impacts are huge”.

About EU Ecolabel

EU Ecolabel is the official environmental label in the European Union, and is based on a commitment to environmental sustainability. The criteria have been developed and agreed upon by scientists, NGOs and stakeholders to create a credible and reliable way to make environmentally responsible choices. EU Ecolabel is a holistic label which targets all relevant environmental issues in the entire lifecycle of the product – from resource-extraction, use of energy and chemicals and CO2-emissions, as well as the social conditions for works in the value chain. The scheme is voluntary, but hundreds of companies across Europe have joined up because of EU Ecolabel’s competitive edge and commitment to the environment. Customers can rely on the logo because every product and service is checked by independent experts.
