Lenzing Teams With Saitex for a Sustainable Denim Capsule

Industry leaders have come together to create a capsule collection that reveals new depths in denim.

Lenzing will present “Midnight Blues” at Kingpins Amsterdam Oct. 25-26, a men’s and women’s collection made in partnership with sustainable fashion designer Pawan Kumar, denim manufacturer Saitex and more than a dozen global mills with sustainable initiatives.

“The ‘Midnight Blues’ collection proves just how beautiful, versatile and sustainable denim can be,” said Tricia Carey, director of global business development for denim at Lenzing.

The collection boasts denim fabrics made using Tencel lyocell and Refibra technology, Lenzing’s effort to build a circular economy. The Refibra technology upcycles cotton scraps recovered from industrial operations that would otherwise be discarded. Through a closed loop process, the cotton scraps are combined with Tencel made from responsibly harvested wood to make a new Tencel lyocell with Refibra fibers.
