In a nostalgic kick, fashion has recently been resurfacing ‘90s shapes. Levi’s is joining in with high-waisted jeans with wide legs, a contemporary take on denim from the decade. Like Levi’s, Gap is taking a nod from vintage denim this season with its 1969 Premium Sky High Straight Leg jeans. Named for the year the brand was founded, the jeans were inspired by a style in Gap’s archive. Distressing adds a lived-in aesthetic to the jeans. Even though the jeans are inspired by the past, the fabric content is decidedly modern with the addition of TENCEL™, which came onto the market after ’69.

Mavi has the denim answer for legging lovers. The brand’s Molly bootcut jean is made in a stretchy midweight denim with 42 percent TENCEL™ Lyocell. Even though these jeans are made to move, the denim has been engineered for fit retention to prevent sags.

GOOD AMERICAN
In a look borrowed from the boys, Good American’s Good Boy Chewed Hem is a relaxed fit with casual details including slits and distressing at the hemline. With the addition of a super high waist, the boyfriend jean creates a flattering silhouette for women. One of the brand’s Responsible Denim styles, the rigid jean includes 32 percent TENCEL™ Lyocell mixed with cotton.

Boyish is focused on being sustainable and transparent, and its The Billy – Space Odyssey skinny jeans are no exception. Using just 18 percent virgin organic cotton, the denim is predominantly constructed with an even mix of recycled cotton and TENCEL™ Lyocell. A classic skinny cut and an eco black denim wash give the jeans a timeless look.
MADEWELL
Madewell’s cropped Cali Demi-Boot jeans can carry you into the beginning of colder months. The ankle-bearing 26-inch inseam can easily be paired with ankle boots once colder weather arrives. Madewell describes these jeans as “stealth yoga pants” thanks to the addition of 42 percent TENCEL™ Lyocell, which gives them a soft feel.

DL1961
During these challenging times, everyone could use a lift. DL1961’s Bridget High-Rise Instasculpt Bootcut takes this literally, with fabric and fit that is engineered to smooth and conform to the body through the waist, seat and thigh. This jean is part of DL1961’s Better By DL collection, which uses low impact fabrics such as TENCEL™ Lyocell and EcoMade Lycra for less eco impact. The jeans are also made using only five gallons of water, and DL1961 omits the use of rivets to make the denim more easily recyclable.
