SDW22 Lookbook: Printed Shirt

This contemporary shirt mixes utility elements with hand-drawn and painted graphics as a fusion between fashion and art. Embracing our psychedelic print, this workwear-style shirt shifts towards smarter dressing.

In order to take self-expression one step further, we have designed a large print rapport (2.20m), which allows us to have garments displaying completely different sets of images. In this case, the utility shirt is featuring our passion for nature by representing the water elements of the design.

We have multi-colored print areas as well as pure black and white – here we chose multiple shades of blue to create an almost monochromatic look when paired with denim.

The large rapport would allow the shirt to reflect many different elements of the design. The garment here reflects our choice…what would be yours?

Our print partner for this collection was Netherlands based House of U, a digital textile printing house with a strong focus on product development and sustainability. They offer a range of sustainable fabric bases, including TENCEL™ Lyocell, via an online platform.

The advantages to us for choosing digital textile printing was the design process plus the environmental savings. The technology allowed for the printing of small fine details, which was important to tell our story, along with high color definition and good dimensional accuracy—and all on a short run at reasonable cost. Compared to conventional printing, there were significant savings on energy and water consumption.
