Kingpins China Show Returns with B2B and B2C Activations

After a pandemic hiatus, the first Kingpins China Show since 2019 happened last week. Industrial partners, designers and denim lovers gathered in Hangzhou from May 23-25 for the hybrid B2B and B2C event.

Over 40 industry exhibitors participated, including Lenzing. The TENCEL™ denim team presented the latest sustainable wash wardrobe, bringing new concepts and trends to life in collaboration with nine domestic denim mills. In addition to application innovations, the entire collection is processed with sustainable wash techniques. The resulting line includes outfits spanning from workwear to casual lifestyle clothing.

Another highlight at our booth was the TENCEL™ x Advance Denim Capsule Collection, showcasing the application innovations of a whole range of TENCEL™ fibers for denim textiles, which impressed visitors.

The TENCEL™ team presented and exchanged ideas with domestic brands, e-commerce retailers, buying offices and some international brands. Meanwhile, Dennis Hui, global business development manager, denim at Lenzing, joined an on-stage panel discussion on the second day of the show with Rebecca Li from The Lycra Company and Amy Wang from Advance Denim. In the session, moderated by Asia Denim Magazine chief editor Ada Wen, they shared opinions on the topic of “Beyond Cotton.” At the end of the second day, the B2B event ended with a fashion show and after party, with beer sponsor Foison Textile.

The new B2C event, DenimKon, ran for the full three days next to Kingpins China Show. Visitors could take in a trend area and participate in 15 workshops, such as TENCEL™ x Advance Denim’s denim flower making session, and a series of lucky draw giveaways were also prepared for guests. There were also denim accessories, limited outfit retail selling, natural dyeing workshops from Prosperity Textile, Zhangzhen Textile Arts, Sansen Denim, Panther Denim and more. Consumers could also take in seminars covering topics like making sustainable choices.

There were also vintage garments and other exhibitions to explore for inspiration and education.
