Back at Bluezone; Ahead to LAFF
Technology, evolving gender codes and changing consumer habits are influencing new directions for Fall/Winter 20-21 denim.
This week, under the theme “All Related,” Bluezone in Munich, Germany showcased how these shifts are connected to denim and what it means for the supply chain in a trend concept curated by denim consultancy group Monsieur T. The concept also included showpieces made in collaboration with exhibitors at the trade show.
Monsieur T founder Tilmann Wröbel shared eight themes for the new season with an emphasis on creativity, collaboration and the new consumer. Read about them at Rivet.
Looking ahead to the LA Fashion Festival on Sept. 20, TENCELTM and NEONYT will host a series of talks on how the industry is leading a charge to a cleaner, greener denim future. Every session includes a Q&A of about 5 to 10 minutes.
Moderating will be Sharon Perez, Lenzing business development manager, and Max Gilgenmann, NEONYT content director, while Kerry Bannigan, founder of the Conscious Fashion Campaign, will deliver a “Fashion and the Sustainable Development Goals” keynote.
The Modern Definition of Denim panel, meanwhile, will give LAFF attendees a glimpse at Carved in Blue’s new video series of the same name, with Adriano Goldschmied, Global Denim’s Anatt Finkler and Triarchy’s Adam Taubenfigel speaking.
Other talks include:
- “Let’s Change Fashion” with Nicole Azevedo, Boyish Jeans designer and Kestrel Jenkins, storyteller and Conscious Style Host of Conscious Chatter.
- “Talk’n’Film” about the Common Thread video series featuring the video series’ producer, 3×1 Denim founder Scott Morrison and Candiani Denim USA VP, Damiano Dall’Anese.
