Kingpins New York Preview: What to See at Kipaş, NDM and US Denim

On Jan. 22 and 23, Kingpins New York will gather more than 70 exhibitors at Pier 36’s Basketball City to share their latest lines.

Before the show kicks off next week, Carved in Blue caught up with some of the participating mills to hear what they will be presenting at the show, including their TENCEL™-containing concepts. Read on to hear more about collections from Kipaş, NDM and US Denim.

KIPAŞ

At Kipaş, you can see its Contra Denim collection produced in collaboration with Archroma and Jeanologia. The line features a newly developed dyeing and finishing process that more efficiently creates worn and distressed looks on dark or black denim. Contra Denim saves water, energy, chemical usage and manual labor by leveraging lasers.

The Turkish mill will also be highlighting its Spring/Summer 2026 collections Raw to Date and Soft & Smart. As the name suggests, Raw to Date is all about raw denim, with a line of premium untreated jean fabrics for the denim afficionado. Allowing the raw denim to keep its color, Raw to Date uses Kipaş’ “stay indigo” technology that prevents fading.

While Raw to Date is all about tradition, Soft & Smart provides denim that is soft and comfortable on the skin. Kipaş used TENCEL™ Modal, TENCEL™ Lyocell and Naia to achieve this super soft, luxurious feel. The fabrics come in a rich color palette and have a subtle sheen.

NAVEENA DENIM MILLS (NDM)

At Kingpins, Naveena will be showing its collection that uses Lycra’s FitSense technology, which helps provide targeted shaping without losing denim’s authentic look. The stretch solution molds to the wearer’s body, creating a better fitting pair of jeans.

“Lycra FitSense denim technology revolutionizes how denim performs,” said Andy Shaw, vice president, U.S. market at Naveena Denim Mills. “We are blending the authenticity of denim with high-performance features to meet the evolving expectations of modern consumers while enhancing sustainability.”  The mill is also presenting its past, present and future themed collection concept. Rewind features retro looks from earlier decades with a modern twist such as soft, flexible fabrics. Play is focused on supporting active lifestyles, with high-performance stretch, bold colors and cottonized hemp for anti-bacterial performance. Finally, Fast Forward looks toward the future with material innovations that use pineapple leaves or post-industrial linen waste.

US DENIM

It might be frigid in New York right now, but US Denim will be taking visitors to Summer Camp at its booth. The collection includes fabrics made for summer, using fibers including cotton, TENCEL™ and linen. Weights range from breezy to heavier wovens that offer durability for outdoor activities.

The line speaks to multiple different types of campers. For the Glamper, US Denim made luxurious fabrics with premium fiber blends. Meanwhile, the Free Spirit gets ultra-stretch fabrics that allow for easy movement. There is also modern stretch denim for Campsite Chic, vintage-style denim for the Trailblazer, lightweight denim for the Carefree Camper and unconventional denim for Wildflower 2.0.

This collection also incorporates US Denim’s Roots concept, which gets back to denim’s traditions with natural indigo dyeing and shuttle loom-made fabrics with regenerative cotton, TENCEL™, hemp and linen. For heightened sustainability, US Denim used the eco-Zero dyeing method that offers a 90 percent water savings.
