Lenzing Receives Platinum CSR Rating from EcoVadis
At Lenzing Group, we are constantly striving to do better for people and the planet through our products and practices.
These efforts have been recognized by EcoVadis, which awarded Lenzing with platinum status for the fourth time in a row in its CSR rating that encompasses environment, fair working conditions and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The assessment studied organizations’ policies, measures, activities and published reports. With its platinum result, Lenzing is among the top 1 percent of the 130,000 companies worldwide that have been rated by EcoVadis.
Reflective of our commitment to continue improving, we outperformed in labor and human rights and certifications. We also saw the greatest lift in our sustainable procurement and ethics results.
Lenzing’s “Naturally Positive” sustainability strategy is focused on moving the industry from a linear to circular system. We are also cutting our carbon impact with investments including cleaner energy at our production sites and energy efficient equipment.
Among of the aspects of our operations that contributed to our platinum rating was our transparency. We have sought out certifications from organizations like Higg and the ZDHC Foundation to monitor our facilities. And we have been working with Project44 to provide carbon tracking to our customers.
“At Lenzing, we are working hard to make our industries even more sustainable and to drive the transformation of the textile business model from a linear to a circular economy model,” said Stephan Sielaff, CEO of the Lenzing Group. “This approach is firmly anchored in our strategy and corporate values. I am, therefore, particularly pleased about the highest rating from the internationally renowned organization and am proud that we as the Lenzing Group have now been awarded platinum status for the fourth time.”
