Lenzing Strengthens Customer Relations with Pre-Intertextile Shanghai Event

Although we are all more digitally interconnected these days, nothing beats getting together in person when the opportunity arises. Gathering with our customers allows Lenzing Group to maintain a close relationship and get a better feel for their product needs and wishes.

Each year, Lenzing Group holds a customer dinner in the key China market. The latest edition of this annual event was held ahead of the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics show, when the industry would be in town. Themed “Advancing Circularity,” the dinner provided a platform to fill the more than 350 guests in on Lenzing’s actions in this space.

Among the Lenzing attendees was CEO Stephan Sielaff, who spoke about the importance of sustainability and innovation. During the event, he announced the expansion of REFIBRA™ technology to our ECOVERO™ Viscose fibers. Originally launched commercially in 2017 with TENCEL™ lyocell, REFIBRA™ technology uses textile waste as a portion of the feedstock for our wood-based fiber production. This creates a circular stream for fabric that would otherwise go to waste.

“Meeting our valued partners and customers in person after this extended period is truly a privilege,” Stephan said. “It signifies not only the strengthening of our business relationships, but also the rekindling of the human.”

Lenzing also showcased circularity at its pavilion within Intertextile Shanghai, held from Aug. 28-30. Key highlights in our section of the show included ECOVERO™ Black and the newly launched ECOVERO™ Viscose with REFIBRA™ technology fibers. We also highlighted our Carbon Zero concepts, as well as our Zero Virgin Cotton and Zero Cotton collections, which take denim outside the cotton box.

The show is the most important textile trade fair in China, with almost 4,000 exhibitors from 19 countries showcasing their products across seven spacious halls. This global meeting place is unrivaled, attracting 67,000 visitors. It serves as a compass for the coming season’s trends, a platform for exploring enriching fringe programs and access to competing trade shows—all seamlessly combined under one roof. With the influx of countless suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and visionaries, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics cements its role as the must-attend annual event in the textile world.
