Textile Shows Come to New York in July

Trade shows are back, and next month will see a bevy of fabric events during New York Textile Week.

From July 19 to July 21, buyers and designers can check out six different shows all centered on textile and apparel sourcing. There is something for everyone, from denim to designer fabrics.

One of the highlights in the week is Texworld New York City from July 19-21 at the Javits Center. This edition marks the in-person return of the show after a fully virtual event this January. In addition to the opportunity to explore product and meet vendors live, the show will feature in-person education with the Lenzing Seminar Series and Textile Talks. A hybrid Sourcing Showroom will allow exhibitors who can’t make it to the show in-person to engage with attendees. Co-located with Texworld are Apparel Sourcing New York City and Home Textiles Sourcing. And for the first time, Texworld will feature footwear as an added category, in partnership with Material Exchange and the Footwear Distributors & Retailers Association.

Also opening Tuesday July 19 is the two-day Première Vision New York. Featuring over 100 exhibitors across fabric, leather, manufacturing and more, the show aims to present American buyers with sustainability solutions. Held at Center415, the event will include talks about the trends to expect in upcoming seasons.

The Functional Fabric Fair—powered by Performance Days—also kicks off on July 19, and runs through July 20 at the Javits Center. This show is centered on functional textiles for categories including sportswear, workwear and athleisure. In 2022, the show’s Focus Topic is “The Journey to Carbon Neutrality,” focusing on measuring the impact of the fabrics used.

Kingpins Show is back in New York on July 20 and 21. The denim-centric show is being held at Basketball City at Pier 36. TENCEL™ will be among the exhibitors, alongside denim mills and fiber brands. There will also be seminar talks to delve into denim and our series “FIT Denim Grads: Where Are they Now”? Join us at the Kingpins Party on Wednesday evening as we celebrate 30 yeas of TENCEL™ in party co-hosted with Siddiqsons.

From July 20-21, The Fabric Show will also be on at the New Yorker Hotel. This show focuses on American, Canadian and European textile and trim suppliers who offer low minimums.

Rounding out the week is i of the World, put on by Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITKIB) to spotlight Turkish suppliers and mills. Among the exhibitors are denim mills Bossa and Kipas. This show will be on from July 20-21 at the InterContinental New York Barclay.

The TENCEL™ team is looking forward to seeing everyone next month and exploring the latest textile trends. And come see our booths at Kingpins and Texworld.
