Advance Denim and Bossa Bring Denim Expertise to NY Denim Days
Turkish mill Bossa boasts 68 years in the industry. Advance Denim has been working for more than 30 years to develop durable, sustainable denim. In other words, you could say these mills bring a global heritage to this year’s New York Denim Days.
Carved in Blue checked in with Mark Ix, director of North American marketing at Advance Denim, and Özge Özsoy, marketing chief at Bossa, about the companies’ combined almost 100 years in the industry and what to expect at NY Denim Days.
Carved in Blue: What do you like most about NY Denim Days?
Özge: At New York Denim Days you can expect a full denim experience with denim workshops, shopping the new and vintage denims. It is also a perfect place to meet the most interesting and active people within the denim industry. You can join to the denim talks and have fun with the music and drinks.
Carved in Blue: What did you buy last year at NY Denim Days?
Özge: A denim bag, full of denim stuff.
Mark: For the past two Denim Days, I have purchased one-of-a-kind denim garments, vintage jeans, and Indigo mud cloth. It really is an opportunity to shop for all things indigo.
Carved in Blue: What do you think consumers walk away with after attending NY Denim days?
Özge: They will see how they can reuse their denims. They will see their denims as a recycle bag, as a part of art, as a part of jewelry. So, they will have a new mind to reuse and recycle their stuff.
Mark: I think that consumers will walk away with a deeper understanding of denim culture and an appreciation of all the different forms of indigo cloth.
Carved in Blue: If you were telling your best friend to come to NY Denim Days, what would you say about it?
Özge: An event you can’t miss if you’re a true denim lover.
Mark: I would recommend that people come to Denim Days to experience the newest fashions as well as the family-friendly denim street fair on Sunday.
