Lenzing to Present on Sustainable Solutions at Denim City, Amsterdam
When it comes to denim anything in Amsterdam, all signs point to Denim City.
The aptly named space calls itself the “headquarters of Amsterdam’s international denim ecosystem.” For anyone keen on denim—from students to brands to designers and more, Denim City is the hub for collaboration, innovation and inspiration.
Denim City is working on a Blue Lab innovation center and it’s Denim City Academy—which leads education and training sessions on topics ranging from denim basics to sustainability and laundry.
On Fridays, Denim City hosts Friday Talks, inviting different leaders in denim to share their insights, and on Friday, Nov. 10, Lenzing will lead a talk titled, “Lenzing: The Conscious Denim Choice” which will be presented by Lenzing business development manager, Oya Barlas.
For Denim City director Harm Magis, the timing was right for the talk as sustainability is “a responsibility which is growing in our day to day and working loves where we aim to make changes to new ways of living and working to improve our behavior.”
Nowadays, according to Magis, Denim City visitors ask what they can do with regard to sustainability and the Denim City team is happy to provide it.
“Consumers start to become aware, although the majority is not yet, this is growing,” Magis said. “The early adopters are willing to pay more but we have to find sustainable alternatives which are competitive or even better priced!”
Lenzing’s Friday Talk will take place at Denim City on Friday, November 10th at 4pm. To register email: denim@lenzing.com
