‘Bad Gal of Denim’ Marta Goldschmied Heads to Denim Days
When denim experts hear the name Marta Goldschmied, they think “bad”—not bad in the literal sense, but in attitude; Marta’s Instagram titles her the “Bad Gal of Denim” and a quick scroll-through proves it’s true.
Her latest collection, GARBAGE By Marta Goldschmied, definitely fits the bill, in body-hugging metallics with plenty of zippers and hardware. The Carved in Blue team can’t wait to take a look up close at New York Denim Days, but until then, we spoke to Marta about what she’s most looking forward to at the festival.
Carved in Blue: What is your theme/story at NY Denim Days?
Marta: I’m extremely excited to bring GARBAGE By Marta Goldschmied to NY Denim Days. By Marta Goldschmied is a brand founded on the concept of transforming something thought of as undesirable into something glamorous. A metaphor that life really is what you make it.
Carved in Blue: Which TENCEL™ Denim styles are you selling?
Marta: We are so excited to launch GARBAGE denim at Denim Days NY. We’ll be selling our denim, which is mixed with TENCEL™ Modal, and our 100% TENCEL™ branded lyocell fibers T-shirts will be launching at Denim Days as well.
Carved in Blue: What do you like most about NY Denim Days?
Marta: I love Denim Days! It’s a fun opportunity to interact with the denim community, which I love since there are only a few events that bring us all together. I’ve met some people that truly changed my life, like Gabriella Meyer. We launched a super special project, We Wear The Pants, together and that was my comeback in the denim industry. I’m excited to show all my peers what I’ve been working on the last six months.
Carved in Blue: What’s on your shopping list to buy at NY Denim Days?
Marta: I always end up buying some amazing pieces at Denim Days, but I am the most excited to buy myself a Denimcratic jacket.
Carved in Blue: If you were telling your best friend to come to NY Denim Days, what would you say about it?
Marta: All I would say is, “Get in loser, we’re going to NY Denim Days!”
