PAIGE Founder Shares Her Thoughts on the State of Jeans
From Miss California to sought-after denim industry fit model to founder of her very own premium denim line, when Paige Adams-Geller talks about jeans, it’s worth taking note.
Founder of her namesake jeans line, PAIGE, Paige the person prides herself on creating clothing that celebrates life fully lived. The denim brand has lived by that ethos, working with the best fabrics, wash houses and staff to deliver jeans consumers will love to live in.
Carved in Blue caught up with Paige to get a look at the inspiration behind the latest at Paige denim and a look at what inspires her to do what she does.
Carved in Blue: What is the current direction for PAIGE?
Paige: The current direction of the line is what we always stand for, fit and comfort in new silhouettes. We are embracing lots of culottes and wide legs, high rise straight legs, dresses and jumpsuits.
Carved in Blue: What are some of the top styles for Fall?
Paige: Some of our top fall styles with TENCEL™ fibers are the Dangy Jumpsuit in Navarro, Alia Shirt in Cabana and the Rowan Jacket with Destructed Hem in Zoella.
Carved in Blue: What attributes do you look for in fabrics for your denim?
Paige: I look for fabrics that keep their shape and are comfortable. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain devoted to designing pieces that you will live in from day to night and will take you exactly where you want to go, #LIVEINIT. The PAIGE family loves TENCEL™ due to its softness and comfort.
Carved in Blue: What brings you inspiration?
Paige: I get inspired by my travels and music. I love traveling and taking in what people are wearing around the globe.
Carved in Blue: What do you think is missing from the denim market today?
Paige: I think what is missing in the denim market today is a reminder that comfort matters. With all of the high rise straight legs trending in rigid fabrics the customer gets confused as to what they should buy. The customer wants to look good, be on trend and comfortable. At PAIGE, we wear-test everything to ensure that it is comfortable, flattering, on-trend, high quality and will stand the test of time.
Carved in Blue: Do you remember your first pair of jeans?
Paige: My first memory of buying jeans was very young. I was five years old and we were moving to Alaska. My mom took me shopping to buy my first pair of jeans for the cold weather, and I refused to wear jeans. Little did I know I would end up owning a denim company one day. I can’t remember the brand of jeans we bought that day but the first brand I recall wearing were Dittos.
Carved in Blue: What does Carved in Blue mean to you?
Paige: To me, Carved in Blue means soft and drapey, as well as comfort and quality.
