SDW22 Lookbook: Coat 2
One of the earliest clothing category words found in English history, coats can be traced back to the Middle Ages.
Items of clothing that are timelessly elegant, never look old-fashioned, and although subtly reworked from time to time, retain discerning purchasers: Such is the trench coat.
The classic belted coat is an iconic piece of clothing that has been interpreted so many times over the years. In our Simple Pleasures collection, we are still finding new ways to update this icon.
From the late 19th century onwards, this was a quasi-militaristic style adapted for optional wear by officers serving in the trenches during World War I. It was a long, belted coat with flapped pockets, usually waterproof, with an optional cape for protection across the shoulders. It became a classic overcoat for both sexes from the 1920s onwards. Both Aquascutum and Burberry promoted the style—Aquascutum in the 1850s and Burberry in 1901.
An alternative to the longstanding trucker jacket, the denim coat is our choice for smarter denim outerwear options. Fully lined with our custom printed twill, ideal for trans-seasonal months, this coat speaks to a more fashion-conscious consumer. Made with a fabric from Cone Denim this hemp, TENCEL™ and cotton blue denim coat could be worn by either sex.
The denim belted coat is elevated with a classic medium wash with microbreaks done with the Nano laser machine by Jeanologia, as well as lasered micro patterns hidden in the front-facing pieces. These micro patterns are secret treasures, which can be found inside the garments throughout the entire collection.

G2 Dynamic
G2 Dynamic uses ozone technology as an eco-efficient alternative for some of the most water-intensive and pollutant fabric finishing processes, while improving fabrics’ crocking and color fastness. Fabrics finished with the G2 Dynamic achieve the desired results in less time, which means savings in resources both in the production of the fabric and throughout the subsequent stages in garment production.
