SDW22 Lookbook: Wide Jean 2
In a world where many people lean towards skin-tight silhouettes, the wide-legged fuller-cut styles stand out. For many consumers, there may be some kind of mental block when it comes to these fuller cuts, however a wide-leg pant that drapes and flows with your body does not mean the garment is ill-fitting.
Wide-leg jeans, colloquially called elephant leg trousers, are a style of clothing popular in the 1970s and reinterpreted in the 1990s to the mid-2000s with low rise and super loose fit.
The quintessential brand of “hip-hop”-style wide-leg jeans, also called baggy pants or “baggies,” came from the Los Angeles-based JNCO (“Judge None Choose One”).
With 65 percent TENCEL™ Lyocell content, this fluid and soft-to-the-touch fabric from Kaihara offers comfort to these statement tailored wide-leg jeans that take on a more casual look.
A light wash made with Atmospheric-G2 ozone process by Jeanologia reinterprets the authenticity of the traditional stonewash pale tone. Small repair details and subtle frayed hems add to the authenticity story. The subtle dirty effect has been made using only one glass of water in the dyeing process and with no salt or high temperature, thanks to the eFlow nano-bubbles technology, patented by Jeanologia.
